Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another watch story. So, I’ve been eyeing the Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar for a while now. It’s a real beauty, you know, with that classic style that just never gets old. Anyway, I finally took the plunge and went looking for one.
I started digging around online, checking out different places where I could maybe find a good deal. I heard some rumors that Chrono24 sometimes has some fake stuff, so I was a bit careful. I did find one on Chrono24 that came with the original papers, which is great, but it didn’t come with the box, which was a bit of a bummer. But hey, the papers are the main thing, right?
Then, I remembered what my friend told me about spotting fake Jaeger-LeCoultre. He said real ones are made with top-notch stuff, like really good stainless steel. So, I made sure to check the material of the watch I was looking at. Felt heavy and solid, just like he said it should.
Comparing with others
I also did some comparing with other models, like the Reverso Tribute Monoface. Both are super classy, but the Perpetual Calendar just had that extra something, you know? Plus, I heard Jaeger-LeCoultre is considered pretty high-end, like up there with the big guys, so that’s a bonus.
Check the serial number
- Checked the serial number: I remembered reading somewhere that the serial number is on the movement, either on the back or under the dial. So, I made sure to check that. The one I found had it on the back, easy to spot.
- Size: The watch is 39mm in diameter, 9.4mm thick, and 45.7mm lug-to-lug. It fits perfectly on my wrist, not too big, not too small.
All in all, I’m pretty stoked about this find. It looks and feels like the real deal, and I got it for a decent price. It’s a classic piece that I’ll definitely be rocking for a long time. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments!
