Alright, so I got this idea in my head to remake that PRADA Medium Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag, you know, the one they sell at those fancy specialty stores. First off, I hit up the official PRADA store. Just to see the real deal up close, feel it, you know?
I snapped some pictures, took notes, like how it felt, the size, that sort of thing. This bag, it’s not huge, but it’s not tiny either. They call it “medium,” which makes sense. It’s made of this stuff called Saffiano leather. Real tough, doesn’t scratch easy.
So, I got to work. First, I needed that Saffiano leather. Found some good quality stuff. It’s treated in a special way, kind of like how they make those old work boots but, you know, way prettier. Cut the leather, following the measurements I jotted down. It was a bit of a pain, but got it done.
- Started with sketching the design.
- Then made a pattern, cutting out each piece.
- Sewed the pieces together. This was tricky.
- Added the hardware, the zippers, and that little triangle logo thing.
Lining up the pieces, sewing them together, that was the real challenge. I messed up a couple of times, had to rip out the seams and start over. But hey, you learn by doing, right? Finally, I managed to sew the whole thing together.
Then came the hardware, the zippers, the buckles, and that little triangle PRADA logo. Got some decent replicas. Attached them carefully. I wanted it to look as close to the original as possible.
It took a while, a lot of trial and error, but in the end, I had something that looked pretty darn close to that PRADA Galleria bag. It’s not perfect, but I’m proud of it. Made it with my own two hands, you know?
The Result
So yeah, that’s how I ended up remaking the PRADA Medium Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag. It was a fun project, learned a lot, and now I have a pretty cool bag to show for it.
