Alright, so, I’ve been messin’ around with this bag project lately, right? It’s supposed to be a remake of the Yves Saint Laurent YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG. Sounds fancy, don’t it? They call it an “original order,” which I guess means it’s like the real deal, but not quite.
First off, I gotta find some decent leather. This bag, it’s gotta feel smooth, like, real smooth. I spent a good chunk of time lookin’ at different types, tryin’ to find somethin’ that would work. Ended up going with this one piece, felt pretty good to the touch.
Get the Leather Right
- Find some good leather.
- Check the texture, it needs to be smooth.
- Choose the right piece, don’t be afraid to look around.
Then, I started working on the pattern. Now, I ain’t no expert, but I followed the original design as close as I could. Cut out the pieces, making sure everything was lined up right. Took some time, but hey, nothin’ good comes easy.
Make the Pattern
- Study the original design.
- Draw the pattern, be precise.
- Cut the leather according to the pattern.
Next up, stitching. This part was a real pain, I’ll tell ya. I used this thick thread, trying to make it look like the real thing. My fingers were sore, but I kept at it. Stitch by stitch, I started to see the bag coming together.
Stitch it Up
- Choose a strong thread.
- Stitch carefully, following the pattern.
- Take your time, don’t rush it.
The hardware was another thing. I managed to find some pieces that looked pretty close to the original. Attached them to the bag, making sure they were secure. That was the finishing touch, and man, I gotta say, it looked pretty darn good.
Add the Hardware
- Find hardware that matches the original.
- Attach it securely to the bag.
- Double-check everything is in place.
So, there you have it. That’s how I went about remakin’ this here YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG. It was a challenge, but I learned a lot along the way. And hey, now I got a pretty nice bag out of it, even if it ain’t the real deal. It’s got that classic look, you know? Like those YSL folks, they know how to make a bag that lasts, even if this one is just a homemade remake.
